Duties:
- Administer and interpret regulatory and interim guidance on health and safety requirements for staff and participants.
- Administer public health nursing duties and practices in accordance with established guidelines.
- Serve as the communicable disease nurse for disease surveillance and reporting, providing public health care services to beneficiaries of all ages.
- Maintain population-based programs and services to prevent disease, protect the community's health, and enable family self-sufficiency.
Requirements:
- A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program.
- A current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
- At least one year of professional nursing experience (equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or above), which includes providing community or public health nursing services, educating patients or community on health promotion topics, and coordinating community health fairs or health promotion related activities.
Work Environment:
- The work environment for this position may include shift work, irregular schedules, and working on-call during emergencies.
- The position may require the incumbent to work on Public Health emergencies, health promotions events, etc.
