Who we are and what we do:

The Tennessee Military Department is currently accepting resumes and cover letters for the position of Talent Management Assistant Director. This position will report to the HR Director and will develop and execute talent management strategies and processes that effectively meet, support and enhance Military Department objectives for the Tennessee Army National Guard, Tennessee Air National Guard, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA), and the Administrative Services Division.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute talent management strategies and processes that effectively meet, support and enhance Military Department objectives.
• Deliver training to Military Department state and federal managers and supervisors in the use of organizational development tools to support talent management development and business practices. This includes DOHR's mandatory learning as well as other courses in the learning pyramid.
• Under the HR Director's direction, coordinates the department's talent management strategy to improve processes and create a high performing workforce.
• Identify current and future talent and capability gaps to create solutions for the Military Department to fill needed state positions and retain valued employees (succession planning).
• Implement talent management programs for state and federal employees who supervise state employees, to enhance employee career path programs and sustain the Military Department.
• Oversee the Military Department agency wide on-boarding processes using the state approved on-boarding pattern.
• Organize and manage The Adjutant General's Leadership Academy.
• Partners with DOHR Talent Management Center of Excellence to analyze needs assessments and survey data to ensure the talent management program is meeting the needs of the agency and to forecast future needs.
• Assess the quality of internal technical and training materials to ensure that Military Department learning, and development strategies are met.
• Collaborate with enterprise-wide talent management leaders, human resources staff, and DOHR by being part of the Learning and Development Council to ensure that the agency talent management strategy is relevant to the Military Departments needs and that future needs are anticipated.
• Assist with automation projects for the Military Department Human Resources Office.
• Assists in oversight of the department's performance management program

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree and two years of experience in Human Resources, Adult Education, Instructional Design, or other related field.
