JOB OVERVIEW
The Human Resource Generalist will oversee the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, leave administration, and enforcing company policies and practices. This position requires strong verbal and written skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and computer literacy. The ideal candidate will have the ability to adapt to changes in the work environment and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. Assist in the recruitment, interviewing, and facilitation of hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions.

Onboard new employees, ensuring successful completion of all HR required forms and training.

Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.

Serve as point of contact for employees, answering questions, concerns, and inquiries relating to human resources, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Facilitate three-month, six-month, and annual employee performance reviews.

Process employee changes, terminations and benefit administration (including but not limited to: Qualified Life Events, COBRA, 401(k), etc.).

Complete employee offboarding, including checklist to manager, exit interviews, exit letters, termination in HRIS system, benefit termination, and others.

Ensure required labor law posters are displayed in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Manage leave administration, accommodations, and Workers Compensation claims.

Develop and drive continuous improvement of employee recognition programs.

Serve as a point of contact for NYC HQ office needs, including supply management, incoming mail distribution, coordination of repairs or services as needed and assisting in maintaining organization of shared office areas.

Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to support in-office experiences and engagement events

Fully understand and exhibit the Milk Bar ethos, embody our core values, inspire celebration, and create real magic. Serve as a brand ambassador, both internally and externally.

Participate in special projects or perform other duties as requested.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors degree required; major in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

At least three years of human resource management experience required.

Understanding of employment laws and regulations.

Proficient with Google Suite or related software.

Ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems. Proficiency with Paylocity preferred.
