The Milken Institute’s events and programmatic activities, involve the exchange of ideas with leaders from around the world. The Institute hosts more than 200 events each year, with our annual flagship event, Global Conference, bringing together 4,500 participants from around the world, featuring more than 900 speakers throughout 200 sessions over the course of the event.
Milken Institute Health bridges innovation gaps across the health-care continuum to advance whole-person health throughout the life span by improving healthy aging, public health, biomedical science, and food systems.

Research Support and Logistics: 40% FTE
- Provide administration assistance to research projects across the portfolio, including background research, scheduling interviews, notetaking, drafting emails, and writing for related publications including briefs, reports, presentations, and other materials.
- Stakeholder Engagement Coordination: 30% FTE
- Coordinate and support the Food Is Medicine Taskforce goals and objectives, which will include scheduling, organizing logistics, preparing presentation materials, synthesizing research, and managing stakeholder engagement.
- Support Feeding Change’s stakeholder engagement efforts across the team by assisting with scheduling, briefing materials, data entry, and notetaking for meetings with Business Council members and other cultivation opportunities.
- Convenings & Events Support: 30% FTE
- Support the coordination of Feeding Change programming and events, including scheduling and logistics, notetaking, preparing briefing materials and presentations, and managing data within our task and contact management systems, Airtable and Salesforce.
- Programming and events include policy dialogues, Milken Institute signature events such as Global Conference and Future of Health Summit, and any other convenings, include external events where a member of the Feeding Change team are speaking.
- Support Feeding Change with administrative assistance including scheduling, notetaking, formatting, creating PowerPoint decks and other visuals, and managing excel spreadsheets and other reporting.
- Research, synthesize, and coordinate drafting of reports, policy briefs, key collateral, and other communication materials.
- Ensure that all written materials are complete, well-written, and reviewed by relevant internal stakeholders.
- Provide logistical support for Feeding Change events that engage key external thought leaders, including research of potential attendees and presenters, outreach, and background research on related content.
- Work across the Feeding Change team to expand and support the Feeding Change Business Council and Food Is Medicine Task Force
- Manage Feeding Change portfolio data within the Milken Institute’s existing systems (Salesforce, Sharepoint, etc.).
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in food systems, nutrition, and/or public health at a minimum
- Interest in expanding their knowledge about building a more nourishing, sustainable, and equitable food system.
- 1-3 years of applied experience in positions related to food systems, nutrition, and/or public health.
- Proven effective project management skills.
- A well-organized writer with strong self-editing skills and comfortable receiving and incorporating feedback into revisions.
- A proactive, highly organized, detail-oriented and hard-working professional.
- Multitasker able to handle complex projects in a fast-paced environment, requiring ability to effectively prioritize and respond promptly to internal and external communications.
- Motivated self-starter displaying high productivity and follow-through.
- Team-oriented individual who seeks out tasks when work is completed.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Salesforce (desired), and a project management platform (such as Airtable, Trello, etc.).
This position will work in a professional office environment. This person may be required to travel occasionally to local venues to assist with events as needed, requiring occasional work outside of traditional hours. Additionally, this position requires interacting virtually on a regular basis with Milken Institute staff based in other locations in the United States and around the world.

This position will work a hybrid schedule consisting of three (3) days per week reporting in-person to the Washington, DC office location (Tuesday – Thursday), with the remaining two (2) days working remotely. Please understand, this schedule is subject to change at the Institute’s sole discretion.
