As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Machine Operator to join our team.
This is a 2nd shift position (4:30 p.m. start time) and there will be an additional 2.50 shift differential applied to all second shift hours worked!
As a Lead Machine Operator, you will oversee daily machine operations, ensuring production efficiency, quality control, and adherence to safety standards. This role requires expertise in operating various machinery, including CNC machines, and the ability to lead and train team members.
Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines and other production equipment such as saws, planers, routers, and edge banders.
- Ensure machines are properly calibrated and adjusted for each production run.
- Lead and train machine operators, ensuring adherence to safety and operational best practices.
- Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or irregularities and take corrective actions as needed.
- Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Inspect raw materials and finished products for quality assurance.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Maintain accurate records of production output, machine maintenance, and any incidents or deviations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification in CNC operation or machine technology is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Machine Operator, CNC Operator, or in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Familiarity with CNC programming and operation is preferred.
- Basic understanding of wood products and manufacturing processes is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and team collaboration skills.
- Ability to lift materials and operate machinery in a physically demanding environment.
