Job Summary: Owens Concrete Staining, a prominent division of Mill Creek Carpet and Tile, is seeking a skilled laborer to join our team as a Commercial Flooring Specialist. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in staining and finishing concrete surfaces, particularly in commercial settings. This position requires a high level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional quality workmanship.
Surface Preparation and Application:
- Prepare concrete surfaces for product application.
- Remove flooring, grind concrete, and clean substrates.
- Apply caulking compounds to seal joints.
- Grind, scrape, sand, or polish surfaces for finishing.
Product Mixing and Application:
- Mix concrete patch, overlay, and other cementitious products.
- Mix multicomponent products like epoxy according to instructions.
- Trowel cementitious overlay materials, epoxy coatings, and broadcast aggregates for industrial or decorative coatings.
Pattern Layout and Decorative Work:
- Hold chalk lines and straight edges for pattern layout.
- Layout patterns with fiber tape or cut patterns into concrete.
- Process concrete for polishing by grinding, honing, and polishing.
Site Preparation and Clean Up:
- Clean construction sites to eliminate hazards.
- Use pressure washers to clean surfaces and tools.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of tools in the shop, truck, and job sites.
Transportation and Delivery:
- Load and unload trucks, vans, or automobiles.
- Verify inventory contents and maintain organization in the box van, trailer, and shop.
- Drive vehicles under 15,000 GVW, following traffic laws and procedures.
- Report mechanical problems, delays, accidents, or other issues to the crew foreman/leader.
- Turn in receipts, money, checks, or paperwork from job sites daily.
Equipment and Vehicle Maintenance:
- Check fluid levels, lubricate, and clean machinery, equipment, and tools.
- Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes.
- Perform emergency repairs (e.g., changing tires, installing light bulbs).
Additional Responsibilities:
- Know the whereabouts of suppliers and products in Oklahoma County.
- Read maps and follow geographic directions.
- You will be expected to work overtime, an occasional weekend shift and please be aware there will be times you will be required to work out of town with overnight stays.
Qualifications

- Valid driver's license with a good driving record and reliable transportation to job sites.
- Ability to determine the correct equipment for each job.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Willingness to follow instructions, ask questions and work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Sense of urgency to complete projects with quality and timeliness.
Physical Requirements:
- Possess the stamina and strength to lift heavy materials (50 lbs) and perform tasks requiring a full range of motion in the neck, arms, shoulders, hands, torso, legs, and feet.
- Ability to use abdominal and lower back muscles repeatedly or continuously without fatigue.
- Capable of working on your feet for the majority of the shift.
