Activity Director

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activities Director to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing engaging activities that promote the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our residents. You will work closely with seniors, their families, and staff to create a vibrant community atmosphere that enhances the quality of life for those in our care.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program tailored to the interests and needs of residents.
• Schedule and manage daily activities, ensuring they are accessible and enjoyable for all participants.
• Facilitate recreational therapy sessions that promote cognitive function and physical health.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to encourage participation in activities.
• Provide support for residents with dementia or other memory-related issues through specialized programming.
• Conduct assessments of residents' interests and abilities to tailor activities accordingly.
• Collaborate with other departments to integrate activities into the overall care plan for each resident.
• Maintain records of participation and outcomes for all activities to evaluate effectiveness and make improvements.

Requirements

• Experience in senior care or long-term care settings is preferred.
• Knowledge of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and their importance in senior care.
• Strong schedule management skills to effectively coordinate multiple activities simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills to interact positively with residents, families, and staff.
• Background in home community care or recreational therapy is a plus.
• Familiarity with aging issues counseling and best practices in dementia care is desirable.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to create a supportive environment for residents.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Rotating weekends
