We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medication Technician to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Administer medications to patients as prescribed by healthcare providers, ensuring accuracy and adherence to protocols.
- Monitor patients for any side effects or adverse reactions to medications and report findings to the nursing staff.
- Maintain accurate records of medication administration and patient responses in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Assist with catheter care and other personal hygiene tasks as needed to support patient comfort and health.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Educate patients and their families about medication regimens, potential side effects, and the importance of adherence.
- Ensure that all medication storage areas are organized, secure, and compliant with safety standards.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills in patient care.
Requirements
- Proven experience in patient care within home community care settings, hospitals, or nursing homes is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy is essential for effective communication within the healthcare team.
- Familiarity with medication administration systems and protocols is highly desirable.
- Ability to provide compassionate care while maintaining professionalism in all interactions with patients and families.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medication records and patient information.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare staff and educate patients about their treatment plans.
- Certification or training as a Medication Technician or equivalent experience is preferred but not mandatory.
