Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a warm and welcoming environment.
- Monitor resident health and report any changes or concerns to the nursing staff.
- Uphold resident rights by ensuring privacy and dignity in all interactions.
- Assist with medication reminders and ensure adherence to prescribed care plans.
- Engage residents in social activities and memory care programs to promote cognitive function and social interaction.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of resident living areas.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance caregiving skills.
Requirements
- Previous experience in assisted living, senior care, or caregiving is preferred.
- Knowledge of resident rights and the ability to advocate for residents' needs.
- Basic first aid certification is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.
- Understanding of memory care principles and systems for supporting individuals with cognitive impairments is beneficial.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while demonstrating empathy and compassion towards residents.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by state regulations.
