This role encompasses managing manufacturing processes, maintenance, shipping and receiving, warehousing, sanitation, and safety. The Plant Manager II ensures efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality production while fostering a positive culture and empowering teams. As a hands-on leader, this role requires a strong presence on the production floor and a commitment to operational excellence. The facility currently operates on a 24/4 schedule with plans to transition to 24/5, with flexibility for additional shifts as needed.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Oversee all plant operations and ensure each department is meeting / exceeding annual goals / Key Performance Indications (KPIs).
- Oversee and administer the operations for the Company’s facility, which includes the daily management of operations staff; provides expert guidance and consultation to management in all aspects of operations.
- Provide leadership and documented training to accomplish goals and objectives that align with company strategy that inspires and motivates team members. As well as managing Tomah’s talent through operations onboarding training, performance management, succession planning, development, addressing issues and resolving problems.
- Provide leadership and “documented” training to inspire and motivate team members, manage talent, and resolve issues.
- Initiate improvements to manufacturing and other processes within the plant using facts and data to drive decisions by leveraging the Management Operating Structure (MOS). Ensure that product and revenue goals are achieved by ensuring production deadlines are met.
- Initiate process improvements using our MOS and make data-driven decisions and ensure production deadlines are met.
- Conduct weekly 1:1 meetings to ensure expectations and budget goals are clear to all team members.
- Develop and manage all assigned Operations GL accounts to achieve budget objectives.
- Implement cost-effective control systems over CAPEX, operating expenditures, and teams
- Establish and monitor plant performance KPIs for manufacturing, safety, and quality/sanitation standards.
- Use established Lean processes and tools for troubleshooting and planning to accomplish goals
- Achieve operational objectives by building strategic plans and reviews.
- Ensure standards related to Good Manufacturing Practices, SQF, FDA, safety, quality, and Standard Operating Procedures are adhered to ensure long term safety of individuals, the facility, and the company.
- Ensure adherence to standards related to GMP, SQF, FDA, safety, quality, and SOPs
- Work with plant, corporate, and client personnel to resolve day-to-day production tasks/needs as they arise.
- Report any potential food safety issues or recordable accidents immediately to the Tomah leadership team (including VP of operations).
- Support all inventory counts per plan.
- Examine all off spec finished goods with Quality Leadership and develop appropriate timely dispositions.
- Complete and/or assist in the duties of all jobs related to manufacturing as needed.
- Assist in manufacturing duties as needed
- Direct responsibility for the leadership, supervision, guidance and support for all manufacturing, safety, shipping, receiving, warehouse, sanitation and maintenance personnel for the Tomah facility.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures.
- Understand adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.
- Correct or report any observed safety hazards.
- Support safety policies and programs.
Qualifications
Education Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field required
- Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
- 7 – 10 years of progressive experience in management of plant operations in food & beverage manufacturing required.
- In depth knowledge of OSHA, HAACP, GMP, SQF, and USDA regulations.
- Powder blending experience and knowledge of dairy and non-dairy functional ingredients preferred.
