- Proficiency-Based Learning: Familiarity with proficiency-based learning and grading practices.
- Certification (or eligibility for certification) in Mathematics preferred.
- Experience supporting learners at all skill levels meet their learning goals and achieve proficiency in course standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Classroom Instruction: Meets and instructs assigned classes at designated times and locations. This will include a split of middle school electives and support of alternative learning opportunities for students.
- Learning Environment: Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students.
- Behavior Standards: Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
- Goal Setting: Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establishes clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
- Student Evaluation: Evaluates students academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports.
- Communication: Communicates with students and parents/guardians for education-related purposes through phone calls, emails, and meetings.
- Collaborative Support: Participates in meetings and works collaboratively with school counselors, case managers, and other teachers to support student success and growth.
- Advisory Role: Facilitates an advisory each day to support students with peer interactions, organization, and important school-wide information.
- Inclusive Teaching: Designs culturally relevant and inclusive learning opportunities for a diverse student body.
