MRP is searching for a passionate and agile Electronic Prep 2 Assembly System Operator who is a problem-solver and is excited by challenges and the opportunity to build something great with us. As an EP2 Assembly System Operator, you will play a crucial role in outputting contract proofs for customers and preparing files to print. The job duties for this position include those listed below. The individual hired into this role will interact with customer service, planning and manufacturing functions of the organization. This is a union position and membership is required.
This is a full-time, on-site position on our 1st shift (6am-2pm). However, changes in manufacturing needs and schedules may necessitate a change to the original agreed upon hours, or the working of additional overtime hours. Every effort will be made to give advance notice of any permanent changes.

What will you do in this role?
- Adhere to all safety policies and actively participate in various safety programs and initiatives.
- Comply with all organizational policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook and Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Follow all GMP requirements in line with the organization's ISO certifications (ISO 9001, 14001, and 22001) and attend ongoing in-house quality education classes.
- Maintain a clean and dust-free work area.
- Perform quality checks on difficult and high-profile jobs.
- Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Process contract proofs according to customer requirements.
- Analyze customer files for production concerns.
- Develop and maintain file preparation specifications and print instructions in the QC system.
- Edit customer-supplied files for press-specific requirements.
- Review trapping and separations, comparing them to customer-supplied originals.
- Maintain a digital file library.
- Produce proofs as needed.
- Output plates as required.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.

What does it take to be successful in this role?
Basic Requirements
- Vocational/technical degree in Computer Graphics and Design or high school diploma with equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of prepress experience.
- Proficiency with common desktop publishing tools such as Adobe Suite (Acrobat, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) is required.
- Proficiency in operating and setting up Mac OS and Windows or other electronic publishing systems.
- Strong layout, design, and typographic skills.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to distinguish colors and understand color theory.
- Strong knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and composition.
- Must be proactive, organized, reliable, and quality-oriented.
- Must be available for overtime during the week and on weekends as needed.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines with self-motivation
Preferred Requirements

- Knowledge and experience in packaging and folding carton.
- Familiarity with conventional offset presses and printing.
- Experience with Hybrid software Packz trapping solution, Hybrid software Cloudflow RIP server, Esko Automation Engine, ArtPro , and Artios.
The physical requirements and work environment:
Must be able to sit for extended periods with good manual dexterity and visual acuity. Exposure to production area which may include dust and high noise levels.
