Job Summary
The R&D Technician III will support the Research and Development and OEM Engineering departments. The incumbent will interface with engineers to support successful development of Millar products and assembly processes, including workspace setup, functional testing and troubleshooting. The technician may also assist the engineering teams by executing protocols and DOEs. Career advancement opportunities are available for the right candidate.
Position Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to R&D and OEM Engineers on a variety of technical tasks related to new product development.
- Participate in the development and testing of new concepts.
- Perform general catheter assembly and inspection using laboratory tools and microscopes.
- Build early-stage prototyping catheters and provide input to engineers.
- Assist with the development of tooling and test fixtures related to new products.
- Provide support for the preparation and execution of functional testing.
- Conduct tests of completed units or components to investigate designs or to obtain data for development.
- Set up and operate test equipment.
- Record data with limited supervision. Document test results in accordance with good laboratory practices and provide a summary of the results.
- Assist with development of manufacturing processes and corresponding design transfer to production.
- Assist with preparation of technical documentation.
- Support R&D catheter builds and production builds as necessary.
- Work from schematics, diagrams, drawings, solid models, written, and verbal descriptions, or defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting functions.
- Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Additional tasks and duties as assigned.
