Position Summary
Performs one or more repetitive and rotating jobs on an assembly line or sub-assembly line to produce and assemble wall and/or truss components. Involves such processes as inserting materials, clamping, fitting parts together and connecting parts using a combination of hand tools, air-powered tools and automated equipment.
Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assembles building parts on a production table or automated line for Truss and Walls
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required and assigned
- Processes includes insertion or positioning of materials by nailing, screwing, cutting components and metal plates to size using a combination of hand tools, air powered and automated equipment
- Measures product or length of boards by marks on sorting table or with measuring tape
- Ensures assembled components meet established quality standards
- Rotate through all the tasks required in a particular production process
- Lift and handle dimensional lumber of varying sizes and lengths
- Loads/stacks finished materials on carts and/or pallets
- Understands and observes all safety procedures & practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers
- Perform other duties and responsibilites as required and assigned
Education/Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Tape measure experience
- Previous experience in construction, framing, truss assembly desirable with a variety of hand (hammer) and power tools (nail gun/saw)
Other Requirements
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and physical
- Work morning/evening hours during week and required weekends and overtime
- Maintenance of regular attendance

- Ability to concentrate and attend to detail amidst busy work environment

- Willing to obtain other training if deemed necessary in performance of responsibilities and continuing education
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Work is in a warehouse setting and performed within a production environment, subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels and dust
- Have clear, close vision for reading and computer work, measurements, assembly of parts and visual acuity to operate power tools
- Repetitive motion of the wrists, hands and or fingers
- May require reaching at or above shoulder level and below waist
- Must be able to safely squat, bend, climb, lift/carry up to 64 lbs., push/pull up to 60 lbs.,
- Grasp, talk, hear, standing/walk for prolonged periods
