Position Summary
Operates a Straight Truck delivering millwork products and pick up credits from and to project areas. Driving to urban/rural residential and commercial locations.
Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operates straight trucks with two or more axles
- Demonstrate decision driving skills by Safely delivering various bulky and/or heavy lumber products in a timely manner in accordance with DOT regulations and damage-free
- Adhering to assigned deliveries and check on load related documentation for completeness and accuracy
- Maintain driver forms and log (ELD) according to DOT regulations
- Maintains high activity/productivity levels while operating with a sense of urgency, efficiency, and determination
- Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods
- Address and resolve customer issues as appropriate and informs dispatch of any outstanding issues related to the customer deliveries
- Check vehicle to ensure mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in good working order
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations or damage to the vehicle
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required and assigned
Education/Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1-year driving and delivery experience
- Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) experience a plus
Other Requirements
- Must have current DOT certification and valid, unrestricted Commercial- B Driver’s license
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and physical
- Work morning/evening hours during the week, required weekends and overtime
- Maintenance of regular attendance

- Verbal & Written Communication skills and map/GPS reading abilities
- Maneuver large vehicles on highways, inter-city and traffic routes
- Ability to comply to daily changes to deliveries/schedules with a positive attitude
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as an individual and as a team to meet delivery goals
- Willing to obtain other training if deemed necessary in performance of responsibilities and continuing education
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Work is perform within jobsite and yard environment subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels and dust
- Perform activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials
- Must be able to safely squat, bend, climb, lift/carry up to 80 lbs., grasp, talk, hear, standing/walking for prolonged periods
- Reaching at or above shoulder level and below waist and have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment
