What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician (1st Shift) position at MILLAT INDUSTRIES?

The Maintenance Technician will report to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for the troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of the following: CNC machines, ball screws, motors, spindles, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, robots, hydraulic systems, gearboxes, and facility upgrades by performing the following job functions.
Essential Job Functions
- Initiates lock-out, tag-out process, notifies affected associates, and works in a safe, conscientious manner
- Utilize diagnostic skills and troubleshooting ability to determine root cause and corrective action of equipment failures, takes action to repair equipment failures
- Ability to disassemble and examine equipment and detect failures
- Ability to perform repairs on the following specific equipment: ball screws, spindles, CNC machine pallet changers, CNC ATC arms
- Ability to perform the following preventative and predictive maintenance checks: back lash, draw bar force, spindle run-out, thermal camera inspections, facility general shop safety inspection, air leak audit
- Ability to use PLC Ladder Logic to help diagnose machine issues
- Change machine parameters, data bits, keep relays and other needed items to perform some machine repair and upgrade task.
- Performs basic CNC machine operations including: start up, shut down, XYZ Axis jogging, tool changes, pallet changes,
- Install basic electrical components: conduit, switches, receptacles, lights, bulbs, ballasts
- Review work order history, add details, and close out work orders in Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Participates in department 5S objectives to achieve a World-Class Maintenance Shop
- Performs other duties as assigned
Job Classification Requirements
- Must be mechanically inclined with some experience with machine control panels and a basic understanding of machine diagnostics
- Open minded and willing to learn new machine types and preventative/predictive maintenance methods
- Computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Folder navigation
- Must stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to floor
- Lifts between 10 and 80 pounds on occasional basis
- Quality oriented and conscious
- Always adheres to Company safety policies
- Requires decision making skills
- Exhibits characteristics of good role-model
- Reliable with excellent attendance record
- Requires advanced training through in-house and/or external training methods
- Must be available to work any shift as necessary
- Required to wear company-furnished uniforms and required personal protective equipment
- Must have own basic tools
