What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Technician position at MILLAT INDUSTRIES?
This individual must be highly motivated, self-directed, and effective in a fast-paced environment, while being able to switch between tasks. Quality inspection experience with hand gages, Optical Comparator, Profilometer, and CMM is a must. The candidate must possess strong communication skills and have the ability to work with other associates in a team-oriented environment.
Essential Job Functions
- Operate multiple CMM’s programmed with PC-DMIS
- Use hand gages (calipers, micrometers, height stands, etc.) along with optical comparator, profilometer, and vision systems to inspect manufactured products
- Interpret customer requirements, including print requirements/GD&T to properly inspect dimensions.
- Assist engineering / quality departments by gathering and analyzing data for continuous improvement activities
- Establish a positive rapport and excellent communication with production leads and associates
- Meet customer delivery requirements by utilizing time effectively
- Utilize lean manufacturing techniques in daily activities
- Follow and Enforce quality procedures throughout entire shop
Job Classification Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of Manufacturing/QA experience
- Ability to use Calipers, Mics, Dial Indicators, Gage Pins/Blocks, Optical Comparators, Profilometers, etc.
- Ability to read part prints and specifications, and interpret customer requirements
- Basic GD&T knowledge required
- Experience with DCC CMMs; PC-DMIS and other inspection software preferred
- Knowledge of precision part inspection methods
- Strong communication skills
- Strong computer skills – MS Office
- Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to floor
- Ability to exert between 10 and 50 pounds on an occasional basis

- Reliable with excellent attendance record
- Requires advanced training through in-house and/or external training methods
