Millbrook School seeks an Associate Director of College Counseling for a twelve-month position starting in July of 2025. The Associate Director of College Counseling will be a team player who performs the following responsibilities:

Responsibilities
Millbrook School seeks an Associate Director of College Counseling for a twelve-month position starting in July of 2025. The Associate Director of College Counseling will be a team player who performs the following responsibilities:
- Counsels students and partners with families to foster a student-driven college process
- Teaches a weekly college counseling course, primarily to V and VI form students
- Supports college counselees through the process of researching and developing college lists, scheduling and planning for standardized tests, and preparing all parts of applications
- Plans and conducts college information programs for students and parents regarding trends in college admissions, financial aid, testing, athletic recruiting, etc.
- Represents Millbrook School at conferences, college fairs, college tours, etc. at the local and national level
- Provides support to underform students, particularly regarding standardized testing and summer programs
- Establishes and maintains relationships with college admissions officers
- Understands the complex and ever-changing landscape of all facets of higher education
- Provides support to the Testing Coordinator in planning for and implementing/proctoring standardized testing.

Specific Requirements / Essential Functions
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must have the ability to work harmoniously and effectively with others.
- Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
- Must have patience, tact, and enthusiasm when dealing with personnel, students, and families.
- Must be proficient in the composition of written communication.
- Must function independently and be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
- Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
- Must be able to work in person on campus.
- Must be flexible and willing to adapt to new technology and/or schedules.
- Must be able to physically teach, coach, advise, attend meetings, and be an active member of residential life.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move equipment, supplies, etc., without restrictions.
- If coaching, must be willing & able to travel & attend sporting events on nights and weekends.
- Faculty members must be able to operate a motor vehicle.
- Typical office and classroom conditions.
- Involved in residential life in the dining hall, chapel, and dorms.
- Outdoor weather and/or indoor conditions while coaching.
- Bursts of heavy traffic, congestion, and teenage exuberance throughout the day.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills
- Experience working with high school students from a wide variety of backgrounds
- A genuine understanding of adolescents and a commitment to working with them and supporting them in a developmentally appropriate manner
