Job Overview:
The Senior Business Development Manager will be responsible for originating high-quality member business loan opportunities within the credit union's field of membership and proactively managing an assigned commercial loan portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Originates commercial loan opportunities within MCU's field of membership
- Interviews and assesses potential commercial borrowers and loan sponsors; compiles and organizes relevant information in support of member business loan requests
- Analyzes financial statements, credit history, business/industry profiles, and market trends to identify potential loan opportunities
- Prepares non-binding loan proposals and facilitates negotiation of loan structure with applicants, including fees, loan repayment options, and other credit terms
- Approves loans within specified limits or circulates loan requests to the Manager of MCUCS and the credit committee for approval
Requirements:
- 10 years or more as a business development officer, relationship manager, or commercial lender
- Strong understanding of fundamental commercial credit analysis concepts and the ability to thoughtfully analyze financial statements and tax returns
- Working knowledge of loan regulations
- Enthusiasm to learn and cross-sell products and services
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
