MCU is currently seeking a seasoned banking professional to fill the position of Vice President of Operations who will uphold the profitability and values of our organization thru your leadership and knowledge all while understanding and striving to meet our company’s strategic goals, mission, and beliefs.
Location: 50 Main St., Millbury, MA
Work Schedule: Mon - Fri; Full Time; In-person
Summary: The Vice President of Operations reports to the Sr. Vice President of Retail Banking and Operations (Sr. VP) and serves as an integral member of the operations management team. This leadership position provides oversight and direction of loan, deposit, and electronic banking operations in addition to contributing to the development of the Credit Union’s operational strategic goals. The incumbent takes the lead in project management, ensures the quality control and verification of MCU communications, data processing, reporting, and financial processes. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to developing policies, procedures, and training to ensure efficient and effective operations. Ensures that all services are professionally delivered, and members are served; operates as the primary Project Manager for MCU-wide projects under the direction or consultation of the Project Sponsor.
Essential Functions and Activities:
- Project management includes vendor co-ordination of new product delivery, product implementation, testing, and rollout and post –implementation servicing.
- Advises the Sr. VP or other members of Executive Management on identification and implementation of workflow improvements and departmental procedures.
- Contributes to the development of operational strategic goals and objectives and overall management of the operations department.
- Maintains continuous lines of communication and keeping the Sr. VP informed of critical issues.
- Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values a commitment to quality.
- Maintains secondary responsibility for maintaining account parameters on all Deposit and Loan applications.
- Assumes responsibility for the development and implementation of effective Operations planning.
- Provides team development and leadership, oversee and organize the workflow of the operations team.
- Ensures that all quality control functions are properly maintained, including the integrity of records, database information, software, and the validation of data processing products and processes.
- Assumes responsibility for ensuring the effective administration of Operations functions.
- Effectively supervises personnel, ensuring optimal performance.
- Assumes responsibility for ensuring that professional business relationships are established and maintained with members, vendors, the business community, and trade organizations.
- Has direct supervisory responsibilities for the Loan Operations Manager and Deposit Operations Manager.
Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 10 pounds. The employee must be able to use a keyboard, PC, and adding machine.
Education, Knowledge, and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (BS) from a four-year college or university in Business or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience in Loan and Deposit Operations management.
- Minimum of seven years banking experience in the Loan and/or Deposit Operations departments to ensure thorough knowledge of Loan / Deposit Operations in production, servicing, and accounting.
- Must have previous Loan / Deposit Operations management experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word)
- Previous experience working with Core System Vendor and Commercial Loan System
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to function in any capacity in Deposit Operations and read and understand consumer, mortgage, and commercial loan notes / documents and payment process.
- Knowledge of processing consumer loan vehicle titles, collateral releases, tax payments, and insurance requirements.

Salary Range: 80,000 to $105,000
