Job Title: Experienced Veterinary Technician

Millcreek Animal Hospital is a privately owned, established, and growing small animal practice in Ogden, Utah. We pride ourselves on providing customized, quality pet care to fit the individual need of every single patient.

We are seeking experienced veterinary technicians who are talented, hard working, dedicated and reliable individuals who have a passion for helping animals.

We are seeking individuals who have the ability and desire to be a leader. Individuals who can learn and excel in multiple positions of the hospital and who will seek to help the veterinary hospital succeed and grow. Minimum 3 years of Veterinary Technician experience is required. Compensation will be appropriate with experience, skills, knowledge, and education. Computer skills are a requirement.

Our purpose is to provide care for all the animals that are in need of our care. We want our patients to live the happiest, healthiest, pain free life as possible.

Applicants must be available to work on any days and varied shifts. Must be available to work late when needed. WE STAY UNTIL THE WORK IS DONE.

The ideal person for this job would be a team player, personable, professional, upbeat and energetic. Should be self-motivated, a quick thinker, able to multi-task efficiently, and have excellent communication skills and compassion.

Work requires continual attention to detail. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.

Duties:
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures
- Blood draws and IV catheter placement

- Perform laboratory tests such as urinalysis and blood counts
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Handle and restrain animals during procedures
- Maintain accurate records of patient treatments and progress
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and treatment plans
- Keep the facility clean and organized
- Assist with pet grooming when necessary

Requirements:
- Proficiency in animal anatomy, physiology, and husbandry
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques to maintain cleanliness and prevent infection
- Experience with X-ray imaging for diagnostic purposes
- Strong communication skills and empathy towards both animals and pet owners

Physical Requirements : Ability to stand for long periods of time while performing work requiring concentration and manual dexterity. Lifting (max. 50 lbs) and handling animals of varying sizes and species, bending, stooping and walking on a daily basis.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
