QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Associate degree in computer technology and/or equivalent work experience. Bachelors degree, preferred.
2. Ten (10) years experience in voice and data network management.
3. Working knowledge of voice over IP, VLan and wireless techniques.
4. Working knowledge of virtual servers and Windows server OS.
5. Experience in pulling and terminating copper and fiber cabling.
6. Must possess good organizational and communication skills.
7. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
8. Must be self-motivated, completing tasks with minimal supervision.
9. Must be able to balance multiple projects and work cooperatively with others.
10. Five (5) years management experience, preferred.
11. Such alternatives to the above as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Director of Information Technology or their designee
JOB GOAL: Planning, managing, and maintaining an organization's computer networks to ensure they operate efficiently, securely, and reliably.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide the necessary research and development required to maintain an infrastructure capable of addressing the changing needs of the district.
- Maintain the efficient operability of all network and Internet services.
- Develop, design, and supervise the installation of all voice and data networks and equipment.
- Develop, design, and maintain necessary measures that will ensure the security of all district LANs and WANs.
- Develop, design, and maintain complete building coverage of the district’s WIFI needs.
- Maintain and document all voice and data networks and equipment.
- Maintain and document VPN access.
- Assist in maintaining the district’s firewall configuration and policies
- Oversee district servers, both physical and virtual.
- Assist in the management of Office 365 mail server and mail filtering software.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of all cyber security aspects.
- Consult with all instructional, management, or administrative users to solve voice and data problems.
- Assist in the long-range planning of technical implementations in cooperation with the Superintendent, their designee, and other department supervisors.
- Evaluate existing procedures and recommend improvements.
- Resolve technical issues that affect administrative, and management functions related to the network.
- Utilize proper procedures and process for ordering repair parts and supplies as well as time and material records.
- Keep current on existing and changing technologies through participation in conferences and training.
- Provide help desk support as needed.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays as needed.
- Any other duties assigned by the Superintendent or their designee.
