About the Position
This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to serve as a Correctional Officer at Mille Lacs County, MN. As a member of our Sheriff's Office, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our jail facility and its inhabitants.
Responsibilities
- Control access to the jail facility and monitor inmate activity.
- Conduct daily operations, including cell block checks, interactions with inmates, and supply management.
- Search living units and other areas for contraband and ensure the safe and secure operation of the facility.
- Monitor movement within and outside the facility, including phone communications and emergency response.
Requirements
- A high school diploma and two years of experience working in a law enforcement or correctional setting.
- Proficiency in computer skills and ability to operate security systems.
- Ability to work swing shifts, nights, holidays, and weekends with short notice.
- Willingness to search living units and other areas for contraband and deal with aggressive behavior from inmates.
