Summary

Responsible for the billing process of patient accounts. Responds to inquiries from patients / customers and insurance companies. Responsible for various other functions related to processing patient accounts.

Job Duties

• Responsible for the billing process of patient accounts.
• Informs manager of any billing issues.
• Works closely with other MLHS departments to ensure accurate demographic and insurance information is obtained allowing for complete and timely billing.
• Assures credit balance owed to government, patient, or another payer are promptly identified, correctly reported, and promptly repaid.
• Ensures accuracy of claims sent.
• Attends educational opportunities to improve knowledge of billing.
• Adheres to MLHS policies and practices including :
