Summary
The Hospitalist provides guidance, supervision, and support to various clinical departments within Mille Lacs Health System to ensure exceptional care for all patients and residents.
Job Duties

- Provides medical direction while on duty for 18 bed med. surg unit, 10 bed geriatric hospital unit, and emergency room services. Will also consult on patients in Infusion and Long-Term Care.
- Responsible for supervision and assisting in the emergency department responding to requests for manpower. *
- Responds to codes and trauma activations.
- Provides scheduled rounding on inpatient and observation patients. *
- Consultation for co-management of surgical patients as requested. *
- Supports all admissions and discharges. *
- Evaluates patients under swing bed status while awaiting short term rehabilitation or long-term care. *
- Responsible for cross-cover and support of patients in assisted living, long term care, and senior care facilities during the course of their stay.*
- Coordinates with discharge planning team to remain in compliance with cares. *
ED volume average 30-35 in 24-hour period
EMR is Medhost, EDIS
Trauma level IV.
ED backup coverage/consultations to experienced team of PA's covering the ED. Occasional assistance in ED at peak volumes. Hospital housing and call rooms available.
Seeking physician to support 7 or 8 - 24 hour shifts/month.
Required Education and Experience
- Licensed and credentialed MD or DO in the state of Minnesota
- Certified in ACLS, BLS, PALS, ATLS, or CALS
- Graduate of accredited ACGME program in Family Medicine
- Board certified or eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine/Pediatrics (double boarded)
- Competent in management of inpatient adults and co-management of critically ill patients with and off-site consultants as needed. Physicians should be comfortable with co-management of trauma cases with the Emergency Services Team.
Salary : $300,000 - $350,000
