What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nursing Assistant Training Program position at Mille Lacs Health System?
Mille Lacs Health System is excited to offer the OnTrack Nursing Assistant Training Program, designed exclusively to train those who are interesting in working with our aging population. This comprehensive program consists of a minimum of 75 hours of training, combining convenient online coursework with hands-on experience.
Program Details:
- Classroom curriculum: Approximately 35 hours of on-demand online courses
- Skills Lab: 24 hours of in-person training with our certified RN Trainer
- Clinical Experiences: 16 hours of in-person clinicals
- Total program duration: Minimum of 75 hours
Compensation:
- During Skills Lab and Clinicals: Paid as a Care Provider Assistant at $14.55/hour
- Upon Nursing Assistant certification: Transition to Nursing Assistant-Registered (NAR) position in the Long Term Care Department at $19.03/hour
Program Benefits and Requirements:
- Tuition and testing fees ($1,000.00) paid by MLHS in exchange for a one-year service commitment as a NAR
- Complete all classes/curriculum within eight weeks of enrollment start date
- Maintain attendance requirements and adhere to MLHS Standards of Behavior
- Pass the State Nursing Assistant Exam to be placed on the MN Nursing Assistant Registry (MLHS will assist with registration and cover exam costs)
- Commit to a minimum of one year of employment as a NAR at Mille Lacs Health System Long Term Care following certification, following all policies and remaining discipline-free
