Primary Duties
- Utilize the QS1 system to fill prescriptions for long-term care and employee patients.
- Enter inpatient and outpatient orders onto the HMS system.
- Ensure timely completion of cart fills for inpatients.
- Prepare medications according to written instructions and maintain accurate records.
- Administer IV medications as needed.
- Provide assistance to employees regarding prescription-related matters, insurance inquiries, and over-the-counter requests.
- Offer training and support to nursing staff on Omnicell systems.
- Restock medications in the Omnicell machine.
- Perform regular inspections of drug storage areas for outdated and overstocked medications.
- Safely sign out controlled substances.
- Adhere to established procedures for returning and disposing of controlled substances.
- Address discrepancies related to controlled substances.
- Participate in annual inventory processes.
- Support the procurement of annual flu vaccines for Mille Lacs Health System.
- Collaborate in managing medications and vaccines for clinics.
- Coordinate the organization and management of kits and boxes containing medications.
- Aid in monitoring 340B program inventory.
- Support controlled substance audits.
Essential Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Prior experience or on-the-job training may substitute for formal education.
- Proficiency in computer skills essential.
- Mandatory clearance of a criminal background check.
