The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) works under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide therapeutic services to patients in an in-house rehabilitation setting. The COTA plays a crucial role in implementing treatment plans, assisting patients in achieving their rehabilitation goals, and promoting their overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in evaluating patient needs and developing individualized treatment plans.
- Implement therapeutic activities and interventions as outlined by the Occupational Therapist.
- Monitor and document patient progress, providing feedback to the supervising therapist.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, exercises, and strategies to enhance recovery.
- Maintain accurate records of patient care and treatment outcomes in compliance with facility policies and regulations.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of patient-centered care strategies.
