Position Systems Engineer
Location Onsite( San Diego, CA / Phoenix, AZ).
Duration - 6 months
Visa Preference - EAD's, L2 Visa
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Participates in an On-Call rotation
- Works with internal customers and business partners to design, implement, and document technology solutions that support business goals.
- In line with the industry s best practices, leads efforts with the architecture and maintenance of systems to ensure monthly corporate uptime metrics.
- Evaluates and makes recommendations to management on technology and services.
- Maintains documentation on new or existing programs.
- Manages capacity planning across all systems.
- Utilizes the industry s best practices to administer and secure the computer system environment.
- Restores servers and assists in application recovery in cases of data loss.
- Maintains current knowledge and technical capability with the industry s best practices. Attends continuing education and workshops to keep abreast of latest technologies.
- Mentors and trains less experienced System Engineers; may assist management with workflow assignments.
- Acts as project manager for larger and/or complicated system network projects.
Supervisory Responsibilities - No supervisory responsibilities.
Client Responsibilities
This is an internal and external client facing position that requires excellent customer service skills and interpersonal communication skills (listening/verbal/written). One must be able to; manage difficult or emotional client situations; Respond promptly to client needs; Solicit client feedback to improve service; Respond to requests for service and assistance from clients; Meet commitments to clients.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor s degree in a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience) along with 8 - 12 years related IT and systems engineering experience along with prior experience tuning large servers for large enterprise level relational databases; experience supporting enterprise-class storage and computer environments. Healthcare industry experience a plus.
Computer & Technical Skills in the following required:
- Good understanding of network routing protocols and network switching architectures.
- Good understanding of security principles regarding server, storage, and application management
- Advanced level knowledge in more than one of the following areas: PowerShell, Shell Scripting, Ansible, Python, Go Lang, Rust, .NET, GIT
- Expert level knowledge in one of the following areas: Windows or Linux administration
- Expert level knowledge in more than one of the following areas: Kubernetes, Virtual Server management, SAN architecture, Cloud Architecutre (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform), Microsoft 365, application tuning, application performance management, security and authentication systems, email systems

- Ability to integrate technology and apply it to solve application requirements.
- Design, implement, and manage enterprise storage networks.

Reasoning Ability

This is an exempt level position requiring one to work the hours needed to get the job done. Therefore, one must have the flexibility to work beyond traditional hours and be able to work nights, weekends or on holidays as required. This may be changed from time to time to meet the needs of the business. Typical core business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm
