Position Philosophy/Summary
Assists in examination and treatment of patients under direction of supervisor, Physician or Advanced Practice Provider by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Create a patient-centered work environment where everyone is accountable to a superior patient experience, participate in improvement activities and ensure service recovery
- Perform patient rooming; to include interview patients, complete med reconciliation, take/measure vital signs; such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight and height
- Drape patients with covering and position instruments/equipment
- Operate electrocardiograph (EKG) and may perform other tests when trained
- Collect routine laboratory specimens as directed by the physician, administer basic first aid, assist with or perform aseptic procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients; use safe and appropriate infection control processes and hand hygiene protocols
- Monitor stock levels and replenish medical supplies and materials in exam rooms
- Record information in patients' electronic record with no errors
- Keep charts prepared and ready for physician and patient
- Take phone and portal messages from patients with appropriate information for provider and return messages under supervision/direction of provider
- Communicate with patients any information supplied by provider to include test/lab results
- Schedule appointments, perform secretarial tasks and complete forms appropriately
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and is flexible to schedule changes
- Provide exemplary patient experience for all patients
- Adhere to organizations Standards of Behavior/Code of Conduct
- May perform administrative duties at the direction of practice leadership
- Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Required Knowledge and Experience
- Completed state approved CNA program
- State/NLNAC certification is required
- 1-2 years direct healthcare experience of similar scope

- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate depending on the business activity at the office
- May require the use of safety equipment for infection prevention
- Dual office assignment applies
- Travel to perform job functions may occasionally occur
