This individual is responsible for establishing and maintaining ongoing lines of communication between community physicians and MPG. The director builds and retains relationships with providers, educating them about targeted programs and services. This role is responsible for building relationships with prospective physicians, evaluating the practice for potential acquisition, closing deals with proper structural, legal, and financial considerations in place, and client support throughout the Integrations and Go-Live phases of the merger or acquisition. As a Senior Director, you will work with tuck-ins (small practice opportunities), medium and large sized primary care groups (5 to 30 or more providers), and support more sophisticated arrangements including, but not limited to, hospital engagements or opportunities. To be successful, the Senior Director Business Development will also build relationships with existing MPG physicians and perform general Physician Liaison outreach functions.
Responsibilities
- Educate / enhance relationships within the provider community.
- Prospecting, networking, and lead generation to surface candidates for acquisition in either private practice or hospital employment.
- Lead the business development and evaluation process with prospects and candidates.
- Manage and report on a pipeline of opportunities for merger or acquisition.
- Use the company's CRM system extensively for documentation, tracking, and internal communications.
- Provide ongoing support for relationships established with area physicians and act as the point person for concerns, communication and information.
- Attend physician / provider events, internal and external, to promote the company and its service lines in external markets.
- Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with internal and external providers.
- Coordinate provider application, developing provider contracts, credentialing, and implementation.
- Support, collaborate on, and drive the due diligence process.
- Identify areas to improve provider service levels.
- Identify and report market intelligence including competitive positioning, practice growth / vulnerability to senior leadership.
- Identify potential opportunities for service line or company to establish clinics or expand services, based on feedback from community physicians.
- Strategize for provider membership growth and retention.
- Collaborate with marketing and organic growth teams on innovative growth approaches based on market intelligence.
- Demonstrate excellent service to internal team members and patients.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
