Position Summary
Millennium Power Services is seeking a dedicated Welder to join our growing team. This role involves performing various welding techniques, such as GTAW, SMAW, and Oxy-Acetylene, to support equipment maintenance and assembly in our shop environment. Key responsibilities include following detailed instructions, assisting with inspections, and employing tools such as grinders and saws to cut and measure materials. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, skilled in basic math, and know welding practices and safety standards.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Welders are responsible for competent performance of processes such as GTAW, SMAW, Oxy-Acetylene welding, and brazing.
- Follow detailed written & verbal instructions.
- Knowledge or training in relevant health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Develop proficiency in completing quality work with assistance.
- Employ hand tools to cut and measure materials.
- Help with inspections on all critical components.
- Learn to handle, clean, and adequately store parts.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, and coworkers during inspections and cleaning procedures.
- May serve as a resource to others less experienced.
Requirements:
Must have knowledge of tools such as Metal cut-off saws, Band saws, Grinders, Drills, and Tape Measures for tasks related to equipment assembly and disassembly

Qualifications and Skills
High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certificate from an accredited school.
- Preferred: 3-5 years of experience with GTAW, SMAW, and Stellite hardfacing.
- Welding certification.
- Welding training is preferred.
- Team player.
- Leadership skills/experience.
Work Conditions
Primarily inside a shop setting.
- 10-15% of fieldwork required.
- Prolonged periods of standing.
- Working under direct supervision or with assistance until self-sufficiency is apparent. (May vary by location.)
- Fast-paced environment with fluctuating product cycle times.
- Working near machinery with moderate noise levels.
- Wearing designated protection safety wear P.P.E. (eyeglasses & ear protection.)
- Steel-toe boots are required.

- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Ability to pull, lift, and carry items up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, and climb-around machinery.
