Location: Onsite - Research Triangle Park, NC - Multiple facilities
Position Overview: MPG is seeking an experienced Director of Security Operations to design, implement, and oversee physical security programs across multiple facilities. This strategic, hands-on role requires collaborating with senior leadership to protect employees, products, and logistics while ensuring top-tier security systems and protocols are in place.
What You Will Do
As the Director of Security Operations, your responsibilities will include:
Physical Security Management:
- Design and enforce comprehensive security programs for manufacturing facilities and warehouses, ensuring access control, surveillance, and emergency response protocols are in place.
- Manage the selection, deployment, and maintenance of security technologies, ensuring they complement the company's cybersecurity efforts.
- Lead the development, testing, and implementation of emergency response plans for incidents such as workplace violence, theft, or other security-related events.
- Investigate and lead responses to physical security breaches, collaborating with HR, EHS, Legal, and law enforcement as appropriate.
- Develop and execute training programs to ensure all employees and contractors understand security policies, emergency procedures, and best practices.
Leadership:
- Oversee and lead a team of security personnel responsible for day-to-day security operations, including guards, technicians, and support staff.
- Manage the department's budget, ensuring efficient use of resources to meet security needs while maintaining fiscal responsibility.
- Manage vendor relationships, ensuring that security staffing and surveillance vendors meet performance standards and contractual obligations.
- Stay up-to-date on emerging security technologies, proposing improvements to systems and processes.
Cybersecurity Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Information Security team to ensure physical security protocols align with cybersecurity initiatives and secure sensitive data.
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with industry and customer-specific security standards.
- Lead and prepare for internal and external security audits, ensuring all protocols and systems meet compliance requirements.
What You Will Bring
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or related field with 10 years of security leadership experience, including 5 years managing a security department, ideally in manufacturing or fulfillment environments.
- Extensive knowledge of security technologies (CCTV, access control, alarm systems) and their integration with cybersecurity systems.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate, mentor, and manage a diverse team.
- Experience managing budgets of $1M and handling crisis situations with a calm, solution-oriented approach.
Skills & Certifications:
- Security clearance preferred, but not required.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CPP are a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate complex ideas and instructions.
- In-depth knowledge of federal and state regulations related to physical security; familiarity with cybersecurity regulatory requirements is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
- Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.

Physical Requirements
- 75% of time spent in a manufacturing or warehouse setting, 25% in an office setting.

- Occasional travel to other company locations or industry training events.
