Get to Know the Role
The Forklift Driver - II is responsible for safely operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to transport, store, and manage raw materials and finished products within the warehouse. The role ensures efficient, accurate, and timely handling of materials, maintaining safety standards and compliance with operational procedures.
What You'll Do
- Warehouse Knowledge: Understand and follow general warehouse procedures and layouts.
- Material Identification: Identify and know production materials by SKU numbers to ensure accurate handling and storage.
- Truck Loading & Unloading: Load and unload trucks, ensuring materials are properly handled.
- Material Handling: Load and unload materials onto pallets, racks, and shelves efficiently.
- Shipping & Receiving: Follow MPG shipping and receiving guidelines for all processes.
- Forklift Experience: 1 years of experience.
- Material Storage: Store materials in designated locations within the warehouse.
- Non-Forklift Assistance: Assist with other warehouse needs, including manual unloading and operation of pallet jacks as needed.
- Order Picking: Pick orders based on production needs and prepare them for shipment or processing.
- Finished Goods Management: Keep accurate track of all finished goods after production.
- Collaboration: Work closely with production leads and teams to ensure picked orders meet production line requirements.
- Incoming Goods Tracking: Monitor and keep account of incoming goods and ensure they match the incoming paperwork.
- Workstation Cleanliness: Ensure cleanliness and organization of workstations and the dock area.
- Problem Reporting: Report any issues or concerns to the Supervisor in a timely manner.
- Safety Compliance: Maintain a clean, safe working environment and adhere to all company safety standards.
- Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the overall objectives of the position.
What You'll Bring
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment is a plus.
- Forklift Certification: Must be certified to operate forklifts and other powered equipment (or willing to complete certification).
- Technical Skills: Basic math skills for measuring and managing materials.
- Physical Abilities: Ability to lift and exert force of up to 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds frequently. Able to stand for up to 12 hours a day with regular breaks.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Time Management: Effective at managing time and prioritizing tasks in a high-paced environment.
- Teamwork: Must work well in a team environment and demonstrate a collaborative approach to work.
- Communication: Proactive communication skills to effectively interact with supervisors and team members.
- Safety Focused: Ability to follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and safe work area.

What to Expect in the Workplace
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift, carry, bend, and stand for long periods. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds frequently.
- Work Environment: Work primarily in a manufacturing plant with moderate noise levels and moving equipment. The environment may include temperature extremes and exposure to various weather conditions (indoors and outdoors).
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): You will be required to wear PPE such as ear protection, eye protection, safety shoes, and a high-visibility vest when necessary.
- Frequent Movement: Utilize hands, arms, and wrists in controlled movements, and be able to walk between work areas and use office equipment as needed.
- Overtime: Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays when required.
