Job Summary
As a Ground Software Integration and Management Engineer, you will support the operation of Millennium’s in-house ground software and mission control infrastructures and platforms as well as external COTS products used across the industry. You will provide a crucial interface between the Ground Segment team, Mission Operators, and ultimately the Space Vehicle itself. You will build, integrate, and deliver complete software and hardware solutions to a variety of customers to be installed both at Millennium’s factory and at customer-owned and operated sites. You will be involved with the ground development process from early design through system integration and operation. After launch, you will sustain your systems throughout the life of the program, ensuring our products continue to deliver mission success. This role is based in Boulder, CO and will require occasional trips to support test and integration efforts in California.

Responsibilities
- Support the installation, maintenance, and integration of our ground systems in the operational environment
- Interact directly with customers to ensure developed and delivered software and systems meet mission requirements
- Install, integrate, test, and deliver large-scale ground software and mission control systems in classified environments
- Develop and execute regression tests at the operational site for software releases
- Interact with other Millennium staff to support testing on components, subsystems, and spacecraft in test configurations
- Execute integrated system test events bridging Millennium-developed products and Government-furnished systems
- Implement specific mission data processing applications into existing systems to support payloads and end data users
- Support ground software and systems during on-orbit activities, including launch, early operations, on-orbit test, normal operations, and end-of-life operations
- Support proposals for new ground systems in support of new business efforts
- Support software testing and installation in classified environments
- Provide engineering and schedule support for the integration of Ground Software at the operational site for the MTC program
- Perform planning, implementation, troubleshooting, and technical guidance for the development and execution of software integration efforts
- Support verification and testing events at the operational site
- Support troubleshooting and diagnostic activities through all phases of operations
- Participate in software testing campaigns in CA. (Huntington Beach, El Segundo)
- This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience with integration of large scale software into an operational environment
- Experience with message broker architectures
- Demonstrated experience working with relational or time-series databases
- Comfortable communicating technical details verbally and in writing
- Demonstrated experience using industry-standard version control techniques
- Experience with unit testing, smoke tests, integration tests, and code quality metrics, including the use of static and dynamic code analysis
- Demonstrated experience in DevOps practices, including:
- Developing CI/CD pipelines
- Infrastructure as Code deployments
- Demonstrated experience using container orchestration tools
- Demonstrated experience using scripting languages such as Python or bash
- Two (2) or more years of experience integrating, testing, and operating ground satellite ground systems
- Demonstrated experience in DevSecOps practices including Zero Trust technologies and practices

- Level 3: $112,200 - $165,000
