SUMMARY: Performs, monitors and controls maintenance and repair activities on equipment, machinery and performs fabrication assignments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Plans maintenance and repair functions.
· Purchases and controls machine/equipment spare parts.
· Completes various maintenance and repair reports.
· Assist management with preventative actions to reduce and/or eliminate waste and quality problems due to equipment or machine breakdown/malfunction.
· Ensures all employees conduct maintenance and repair activities in a safe and efficient manner. Ensures all maintenance areas meet safety requirements. Attends safety committee meetings.
· Assists management with the establishment and maintenance of work instructions, process procedures and standards for maintenance and repair functions.
· Investigate, complete and follow up on Root Cause Analysis’ for production loss or quality problems related to equipment or machine breakdown/malfunction.
· Participates in the continuous improvement program (kaizen).
· Inputs information for yearly budget and management plan preparation.
· Provides training for team members.
· Assigns/performs maintenance and repair tasks to team members.
· Provides/performs maintenance and repair supervision.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent; 3 years industrial related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, quality manuals, operational procedures, work instructions, and technical manuals. Ability to write work instructions, root cause analysis, routine reports and business correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to calculate percentages, area, circumference and volume and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to read machine or equipment blueprints and schematics.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to use various personal computer software (Microsoft Windows). Knowledge of metric system. Mechanically inclined, working knowledge of electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding/cutting equipment.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Crane License, Forklift License (May be obtained in the first three months of employment).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Proper safety equipment is required for work on the warehouse floor.
SOCIAL ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to handle stressful situations at times. Must work well with warehouse, and other team members. Will have to juggle multiple tasks at times.
HOURS: Minimum of 10 hours/day, with occasional weekends and/or holidays. Also, on-call responsibilities. Primary work hours: 6am to 6 pm or 6 pm to 6 am. Must be able to work rotating or fixed shifts.
