Production Planning Scheduler

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Review daily shipments to the customer, run daily reports, maintain and post daily inventory graphs and charts
• Review inventory levels and customer orders
• Review and reconcile Receiving
• Create production schedules to replenish inventory levels
• Create job orders including special processing request (SPR’s) with all supporting documentation to meet production schedules
• Issue schedules and job orders with all supporting documentation to the production lines.
• Monitor the progress of production schedules and collaborate with MST operations to ensure optimal production line efficiency and effectiveness
• Review reported production for accuracy and completeness and correct discrepant data as necessary.
• Provide validated production reports for accounting.
• Coordinate with sales regarding raw material availability, material shortages and inventory levels.
• Back up the production planning coordinators

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma. 1 year experience using spreadsheets at the beginner level or one year related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to run reports and effectively present information and respond to questions from group of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

SOFTWARE SKILLS:
Experience with using Windows based software such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access. Must have the ability to learn software quickly to include the Enterprise system and Web Focus.

ANALYTICAL SKILLS:
Ability to analyze problems with inventory levels, scheduling. Ability to identify and assess daily priorities with respect to production planning and inventory control.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to follow written work instructions and provide output to modify work instructions when needed.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is required to walk distances within the warehouse plant. The employee may at times be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (bankers boxes or steel material samples). The employee will be required to wear the proper protective gear to include a hard hat, reflective vest, steel toe shoes, safety glasses and protective gloves.

The work environment for this job is an office type environment. However frequent visits may be required to the warehouse and blanker machine areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Proper safety equipment is required for work on the warehouse floor.

Must be able to handle stressful situations at times. Must work well with warehouse, customers and other team members..
