What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Team Leader position at Millennium Steel of Texas?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Duties subject to change and or additional duties may be assigned.
· Manages and supports daily activities for coordinator, analyst and CMM operators.
· Support with special projects.
· Conduct Monthly Quality Training
· Train quality team to quality processes
· Manages held material to include dispositioning and sort activities.
· Manages Customer Complaint Process
· Work with customers and mills on trials and coordinating PCR/NONC run/shipments.
· Create, revise and review quality documents.
· Train team members to new and revised work instructions and documents
· Back up CMM operator
· Internal audits
Required Education and Experience:
2 yrs. College; or three years related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Exceptional communication and training skills is necessary.
Preferred Education and Experience:
In addition to the required above, CMM operator experience and supervisory experience is a plus, preferably in the automotive field. Proficient in Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, and Power Point).
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manage the day-to-day activities of the coordinator, analysts and CMM operators.
Travel Required: Minimal travel required, less than 25%.
Work Schedule: Day shift schedule (Monday – Friday). Possibility of weekend work when needed.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, quality manuals, operational procedures, and work instructions. Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, suppliers, or employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to draw and interpret graphs. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.
Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to use ten key calculator, perform data entry, and use various personal software. An intermediate knowledge of Excel is required. Knowledge of metric system is preferred.
