What are the responsibilities and job description for the Racquet Sports Director position at Millennium Tennis & Fitness Club LLC?
Millennium Family Fitness is seeking a full-time Racquet Sports Director. The Racquet Sports Director will be responsible for managing and developing racquet sports (both Tennis and Pickleball) programs for the facility; recruiting new racquet sports members; teaching lessons and clinics; managing racquet sport staff and pro shop operations, court maintenance, lessons, tournaments, and court usage.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in the development of a comprehensive standard facility operations manual, including written policies and procedures for all facility services, administration, and maintenance using the Millennium Family Fitness operations template.
- Reports any incidents or accidents to the General Manager.
- Assists in developing monthly client reports.
- Submits all paperwork and financial reporting, if applicable, in accordance with Millennium Family Fitness policy.
- Assists in facility maintenance, routine preventative maintenance, and repair.
- Participates in the Manager on Duty (MOD) schedule.
- Understands the use and benefits of services, products, programs, and activities by participating in regularly scheduled staff meetings and training workshops.
- Provides excellent customer service and helps monitor guest feedback through the use of comment cards and other customer care techniques. Follows up on guest requests and comments.
- Helps ensure facility access is limited to actual members and/or their guests, and facility safety at all times.
- Helps enforce Club policies regarding guests and guest fees.
- Responsible for maintaining and overseeing court readiness.
- Oversee the court reservation system to ensure a smooth and even flow of traffic on and off courts.
- Offers all instructional services including private and semi-private lessons, small groups, clinics, team coaching, and tactics and strategy.
- Assists in the coordination of all social and competitive events including special tournaments.
- Implement programs for adults and juniors.
- Participate in overseeing all pro shop and retail functions, when applicable.
- Submit all lesson and /or sales forms to the General Manager and/or corporate office on time.
- Attend staff and facility meetings.
- Promote the facility and its amenities to potential members when applicable.
- Maintains an attractive, up-to-date bulletin board.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- College degree or comparable work experience
- Previous Racquet Sports Director experience
- Must be an experienced, strong, successful player.
- Teaching certifications from USTA or USPTA or PTR
- Experience in promoting and implementing a large and varied program of events, classes, and leagues.
- Experience with budget development and financial management is also required.
