What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crane Operator position at Miller Construction, Inc.?
Miller Construction has a full time opening for an experienced Crane Operator for taxi crane work in Vermont and New Hampshire. Experience with hydraulic cranes, as well as NCCCO or equivalent certification and CDL B (minimum) preferred. Experience with steel erection, and bridge construction are a plus. Overtime and weekend work necessary.
Extensive experience is not necessary, we will train the right person.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Read and understand load charts, plan and assist with critical lifts, set up cranes for heavy lifts and control crane movement in response to hand signals and radio commands.
- Understand and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures.
- Be responsible for your own safety as well as those working in the area.
- Know where all utilities within the work zone are located.
- Complete equipment condition reports, and daily checklists of repair and maintenance work to be done on equipment.
- Make notes on equipment reports for any required supplies, i.e.: grease, oil, rags, cleaning supplies, etc.
- Clean the machines regularly. This includes sweeping the cabs and removing trash daily, cleaning the interior weekly, and lubricating doors and windows.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
