The Headlines:
In the role of Agronomist working in Milwaukee, WI you will develop and manage supplier (grower) relationships. This position provides barley production guidance to Molson Coors barley growers through consultation to achieve a high level of malt barley quality. This position spends a significant amount of time outside the office, traveling locally to visit growers. The Agronomist also contributes as needed to elevator operations as well as manages and executes independent projects for Barley Program.
This position reports to the Regional Manager – Barley Program.
The Responsibilities:
- Utilizing ESRI ArcGIS software platform and Survey123 to develop a grower database. Analyzing geo-spatial data such as field practices and climate. Creating from survey data to communicate sustainability results. Map barley fields into a geo-spatial database and integrate other data such a yield and quality.
- Executing the Molson Coors barley contract with growers. Responsible for maintaining the grower base to obtain the best barley to maximize the highest value to Molson Coors. Working to enhance minority spend within the Molson Coors Barley Program. Tracking and analyzing barley grower performance.
- Working collaboratively with the Molson Coors barley growers to produce a quality crop that meet Molson Coors contract specifications. Agronomic recommendations encompass planting, chemical applications, irrigation, and timing of harvest.
- Working collaboratively with the Barley Research and Development in the planning, execution, and analysis of variety development activities in area. Providing expert support and knowledge to the Farm Operator to enable the research farm to deliver the best performance.
- Managing, or assisting, with the administration of a certified barley seed program, including contracting of seed growers and inspections of grower’s equipment and storage. Managing seed wholesaler relationships.
The Other Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science, Life Science or Business, or 5 years practical field experience in agronomy or related field required.
- Practical experience in small grain production is required.
- Demonstrated skills with common software such as Windows, Excel, or ArcGIS. Ability to quickly learn to manage information in SAP and EBMS.
- Technical knowledge in technical analysis and decision making.
