We are searching a Litigation Legal Assistant who can assist the firm’s litigation attorneys with contested matters, as well as client communication. The position is full-time and in-person at our Plano, Texas office.
The duties of the position include:
- Initial file intake and setup; requesting initial fee approval
- Preparing motions, responses, notices, and written discovery for litigation attorney review
- Filing and serving pleadings and other documents with state and federal courts
- Communicating with clients regarding case status, hearing results and ongoing fee requests
- Updating case status in CaseAware and client system portals
- Assisting litigation attorneys with hearing preparation
- Performing other duties as assigned
Desired skills and experience:
- Experience with CaseAware
- Experience with drafting pleadings and other legal documents
- Experience working in client system portals including BKFS/LPS, Tempo and Legal Tracker
- Ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Willingness to assist other team members
- Willingness to ask questions when needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
