The successful candidate will possess the following skills and qualities :
Organized, self starter that can complete tasks without regular supervision. Must be accustomed to an ownership workload and capable of handling multiple tasks with ease (with a get it done mentality).
Comprehensive understanding of financial statements including the ability to complete month end close, produce financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, review liabilities, review multiple p&l's by class for missing entries, and distribution / equity journal entries for multiple entities.
The ability to make journal entries (accruals, reclasses, revenue, payroll), intercompany reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and upload entries into bookkeeping software.
The ability to update cash flow forecasts on a weekly basis with a solid understanding of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables.
A firm understanding of payroll and experience with online payroll services like ADP or Paychex to report and book payroll expense on a bi-weekly basis.
Substantial background and understanding of bookkeeping. Yardi or Resman experience is a plus.
Capable of multi-tasking and meeting clients needs with the ability to still finish tasks in an effective and efficient manner.
The ability to offer suggestions on how to book journal entries, fix g / l accounts, and correct issues in the ledger to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
Possess excellent written and oral communication skills as the position has direct client contact.
Ability to document processes / procedures and provide process improvement11Advanced level Microsoft Excel skills.
Ability to prepare Property Tax & Insurance information to provide to third party professionals
Provide monthly loan reconciliations
The ability to work with and manage an offshore team
Position Requirements :
BS or higher in Accounting or Finance
5-7 Years Experience in an Accounting Management Role
Property Management Accounting a huge plus (there is an outsourced management co, but Controller reviews their financials)
Previous experience liaising with auditors
Treasury Management Skills
Must have worked for a smaller company or entrepreneur in a past role
Must be able to ebb and flow with requests (must be flexible and adapt to changes within a growing organization)
