This is a unique opportunity to lead and grow our Probate and Estate Planning Practice Group, working with high-net-worth clients to secure their financial legacies and navigate complex legal matters.
As a key member of our leadership team, you will shape the future of our Probate and Estate Planning Practice Group, mentor junior attorneys, and help set a strategic direction for growth.

Key Responsibilities
- Meet with clients to assess their financial situations and objectives
- Provide expert guidance on business succession planning, charitable planning, minimizing estate taxes, and protecting assets
- Draft legal documents such as wills and trusts
- Lead and mentor a team of attorneys in our Detroit office
- Help drive growth of Miller Johnson’s Probate and Estate Planning Practice Group in Detroit
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will bring a substantial book of business and a proven track record of working with ultra-high-net-worth clients. Additional qualifications include:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admission to the Michigan State Bar (ability to waive into the Michigan State Bar)
- Proven expertise in state-specific probate and estate laws
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to ongoing legal education
