Responsibilities
- You will assist the Store Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations, including staff scheduling, inventory management, and store maintenance.
- Lead by example in providing outstanding customer service, assisting customers with product selection and inquiries, and resolving issues as needed.
- Coach, mentor, and train Retail specialists to ensure they have the knowledge and skills to deliver exceptional service and meet sales targets.
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new team members, ensuring a smooth transition and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including receiving shipments, conducting stock checks, and maintaining accurate records of merchandise.
- Collaborate with the Store Manager to develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue goals and maximize profitability.
- Handle cash management responsibilities, including opening and closing procedures, cash reconciliation, and deposits.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and company policies, promoting a safe and secure work environment for all team members and customers.
- Assist in conducting performance evaluations, providing feedback, and implementing corrective actions to ensure high performance and productivity.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by your manager. These duties are required to be within your capabilities and are intended to support the Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and/or Cultural performance and success of the Miller Paint Company.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of retail experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably in the paint or home improvement industry.
- Strong knowledge of paint products, color matching, and application techniques, with the ability to provide expert guidance to customers.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve results.
- The customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional service and building long-lasting relationships with customers.
- Proficiency in retail management software, point-of-sale systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organization and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members and customers.
Frequency of physical activity throughout shift:
- Frequent sitting, standing, bending/twisting of neck and waist, squatting and kneeling
- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects from floor, conveyor, vehicle, table, or overhead location
- Frequent lifting of 10-65 lbs. throughout shift
- The work environment consists of physical conditions typical of a retail store. Full-physical mobility is required to perform this job; constant standing and ability to lift and move up to 65 lbs. with assistance
