About This Position
At Miller Paint, we want you to exceed our customers’ expectations in our stores by providing extraordinary service in the areas of paint and product knowledge, project support, color suggestions, and over-the-top friendly service.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of company products, finishes and method of applications while assisting customers with selection of products as well as color as we progress through the sale process.
- Engage with customers in person and over the phone, assessing needs and making product recommendations.
- Deliver an outstanding customer service experience by being knowledgeable on product applications and offerings.
- Process orders, tint paint, assist with product and pricing inquiries.
- Stock and product receiving, placement, inventory management.
- Comply with the requirements of a retail store schedule, which may include opening the store early in the morning, and on weekends and holidays, and closing the store.
- Ensure sales transactions are completed accurately
- Stock shelves and set up displays, clean store equipment and load/unload delivery trucks
- Assist in making deliveries if necessary
- Provides carry-out for every customer
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by your manager. These duties are required to be within your capabilities and are intended to support Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and/or Cultural performance and success of the Miller Paint Company.
- Lifting of 10-65 lbs. throughout shift
- The work environment consists of physical conditions typical of a retail store. Full-physical mobility is required to perform this job; constant standing and ability to lift and move up to 60 lbs. with assistance
Qualifications:
- Age requirement: Must be 18 years of age or older.
- English language skills, including a level of reading comprehension, and written and oral language.
- Math skills of number sense, measurement, geometry, and math reasoning
- Ability to distinguish the difference between colors, a skill used when color matching or tinting paint.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Spanish speakers encouraged to apply
- Valid driver's license is preferred, and a safe driving record and the ability to operate a van, if eligible to drive and business needs dictate.
Physical Requirements
Frequency of physical activity throughout shift:
- Frequent sitting, standing, bending/twisting of neck and waist, squatting and kneeling
- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects from floor, conveyor, vehicle, table, or overhead location
- Frequent lifting of 10-65 lbs. throughout shift
- The work environment consists of physical conditions typical of a retail store. Full-physical mobility is required to perform this job; constant standing and ability to lift and move up to 65 lbs. with assistance
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
