JOB DESCRIPTION:
Miller Refrigeration Inc., a trusted leader in the refrigeration industry, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Refrigeration Foreman to join our team. This individual will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of the refrigeration team, ensuring the efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial refrigeration systems in accordance with project specifications, safety standards, and company policies. The role involves supervising technicians, managing schedules, maintaining quality control, and ensuring timely completion of projects.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervision & Coordination:
- Lead and supervise a team of refrigeration technicians and apprentices.
- Assign tasks based on project requirements and individual skill levels.
- Ensure that all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and local codes.
Project Management:
- Plan, schedule, and oversee the execution of refrigeration projects along side construction project manager.
- Monitor project progress, ensuring deadlines are met and budgets are adhered to.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure seamless project execution.
Technical Support:
- Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration systems including compressors, evaporators, condensers, and related components.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues in refrigeration systems, providing technical guidance to team members.
- Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and perform preventive maintenance as required.
Quality Control:
- Inspect work for quality and adherence to specifications and standards.
- Conduct testing and commissioning of refrigeration systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including reports, logs, and records.
Safety & Compliance:
- Enforce safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe work environment for all team members.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and ensure all team members have the necessary safety training and certifications.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
Communication & Reporting:
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members to resolve issues and provide updates.
- Prepare daily and weekly reports on project status, team performance, and any issues or delays.
- Provide feedback and performance evaluations for team members.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical school certification in HVAC/R or related field is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the refrigeration field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Commercial refrigeration experience highly preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair techniques.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in using electronic devices such as cell phones, tablets, and laptops for communication, documentation, and accessing job-related information.
- Clean driving record required.
- Valid HVACR license and EPA certification required.
- Computer literacy required.
Physical/Mental Requirements:
- Possess excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal skills with the ability to multitask several projects at once.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to handle stressful situations.

- Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs.
- Must be confident in the operation of ladders, scissor lifts, pallet jacks or other devices as needed.
