JOB DESCRIPTION :
Miller Refrigeration Inc., a trusted leader in the refrigeration industry, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Field Service Supervisor to oversee and support our team of service technicians in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial refrigeration systems. This individual will be responsible for ensuring high-quality service, providing technical guidance, and maintaining strong relationships with clients. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with commercial refrigeration equipment and a strong ability to lead and mentor technicians in the field.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Supervise, support, and mentor field service technicians to ensure quality work and adherence to company standards.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with commercial refrigeration equipment, including :
Walk-in coolers & freezers
Ice machines (Hoshizaki, Manitowoc, Scotsman, etc.)Reach-in refrigerators & freezersRack refrigeration systemsSelf-contained refrigeration unitsRemote refrigeration systemsConduct field inspections and provide hands-on support for complex repairs and installations.Ensure technicians follow safety procedures, company policies, and industry best practices.Maintain effective communication with customers, providing updates and ensuring satisfaction with service.Assist with scheduling and dispatching technicians as needed to optimize efficiency.Monitor inventory levels on service vehicles and coordinate with the parts department for necessary supplies.Train and develop technicians, including troubleshooting techniques, customer service, and new equipment procedures.Accurately complete service reports, job documentation, and communicate key findings to management.Travel to various job sites within the service area; maintain a professional and customer-focused approach at all times.Other duties as assigned.ROLE REQUIRMENTS : Education :
High School diploma or equivalent required.EPA Section 608 Certification (Type II or Universal) required.Experience :
Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial refrigeration, with a strong background in diagnosing and repairing various refrigeration systems.Experience in a supervisory role leading / managing others required.Skills & Competencies :
Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.Proficiency in using service diagnostic tools and equipment.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.Exceptional customer service skills with a professional and approachable demeanor.Strong leadership skills; emotional intelligence.Strong analytical and problem solving skills.Teamwork orientation.Computer literacy required.Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to be insured under company policy.Physical / Mental Requirements :
Possess excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal skills with the ability to multitask several projects at once.Excellent customer service skills and the ability to handle stressful situations.Self-motivated, reliable, and accountable individual.Must be able to lift / carry 50 lbs.Must be confident in the operation of ladders, scissor lifts, pallet jacks or other devices as needed.Job requires full body mobility.Must be able to work safely in varied environments and around hazardous commercial equipment.Work Environment :
The Field Service Supervisor will primarily work at customer job sites , which may include :Supermarkets
Convenience storesWholesale food distributorsCold storage facilitiesThis role involves working in a variety of environments, including mechanical rooms, outdoor units, walk-in coolers / freezers, and rooftop equipment . Conditions may be cold, hot, humid, or physically demanding depending on the job site. The position requires frequent travel within the service area using a company-provided truck.
