About the Company
Seeking an entrepreneurial and ambitious Director of Business Development to grow and drive sales of our racking business. Company is focused on three related business lines:
- Racking and material handling automation;
- Industrial (cold and conventional) real estate development, focusing on automated facilities;
- Cold storage logistics.
The Company leverages its real estate and racking and automation experience to bring a total building, racking, and automation solution to tenants and companies, backed by a robust platform offering access to diverse markets, a strong capital markets team, and corporate infrastructure. About the Role
The ideal candidate will have worked directly with companies in designing, engineering, and installing racking and automated material handling solutions, especially AS/RS systems, and bring with them accounts and contacts in the industry. In addition, this position will grow and support current accounts.
This position will report directly to the principal and Chief Development Officer and work closely with the CEO to drive new business. They will have a project manager as a direct report. It is expected the Director of Business Development will continue to build the team as the company grows.
Responsibilities
- Technical sales experience in the racking or automated material handling industry.
- Experience with AS/RS systems highly desirable but not required.
- Experience working with systems integrators, material handling and automation groups, general contractors, or developers.
- Collaborate with the Chief Development Officer and CEO to identify new accounts and grow existing ones.
- Be the main representative in strategic partnerships and joint ventures with real estate developers to provide tenants with a total real estate and automation solution.
- Attend trade shows and other business development events. It is expected this position will be highly engaged in industry trade groups.
- Research, identify, and analyze potential new opportunities in material handling automation, and racking offerings.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, ideally specializing in engineering or business (advanced degree preferred).
Previous work experience with systems integrators, racking companies, or corporate automation or material handling groups.
Familiarity with racking, warehouse automation, cold storage, warehouse and industrial trends.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Must be an analytical, creative problem solver and critical thinker.
Must have a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
Must have excellent organizational, time management, and planning skills.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of Company's services and processes is required which can be obtained through intellect, technical inclination, and dedication to gain such knowledge.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret CAD drawings, BOMs and racking designs and requirements.
- Knowledge (Intermediate to advanced) of various operating systems, software products (e.g. MS Office, etc.), is required.

Salary : $100,000 - $175,000
