Job Description:
We are seeking a Mid-Level Mechanical Design Engineer with continuous motion machine building experience to join our expanding team. This is an in-person role at our Sugar Grove, IL plant, ideal for a motivated self-starter eager to contribute to innovative projects.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, review, and update mechanical designs and drawings to meet specifications, standards, and customer feedback.
- Design and implement automated systems for diverse manufacturing and production environments, especially high-speed assembly applications.
- Manage the complete machine design lifecycle, from planning and development to testing and implementation. SolidWorks knowledge is vital here!
- Collaborate with leadership and key stakeholders to assess automation capabilities and define objectives.
- Maintain customer correspondence, including approvals, changes, agreements, and transmittals.
- Enhance existing automation technologies through component and process improvements.
- Perform other engineering and manufacturing-related tasks as assigned by management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and time-management abilities.
- Solid mechanical aptitude and technical knowledge.
- Familiarity with electronic equipment, computer hardware, and software.
- Knowledge of HMIs, PLCs, servos, Sensors, BOM, and schematics.
- Experience with machine design preferred over product design.
- Understanding of equipment capable of combining 7,000 - 8,000 components.
- Must have high-speed assembly knowledge.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- OR 3-5 years of relevant work experience/equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proficiency in MS Office and SolidWorks (2023/2024).
- Ability to measure and model new and existing mechanical components.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (No VISA sponsorship available).
